Proud to Announce: KIF (Turkish Kennel Club) to Host the FCI 2025 World Search and Rescue Dogs Team Championship in Turkey!
Dear KIF Community and Dog Lovers,
It is with great pride and excitement that we announce a significant decision made by the FCI Search and Rescue Dogs Commission. At the annual meeting held in Slovakia on February 24, 2024, it was unanimously decided that the Turkish Kennel Club (KIF) will host the FCI 2025 World Search and Rescue Dogs Team Championship in Turkey.
This announcement comes with a mix of joy and remembrance. As we prepare to welcome this event, we cannot forget the devastating earthquake that struck our nation on February 6, 2023. The tragedy, which claimed thousands of lives and left deep scars across our communities. Over the past two years, our relentless efforts have culminated in Turkey being chosen as the host nation for this esteemed championship. This is not just an opportunity to display the extraordinary skills of search and rescue dogs from around the world but also a moment to honor the resilience of the human spirit and the unbreakable bond between humans and their dogs.
Hosting the FCI 2025 World Search and Rescue Dogs Team Championship is a tribute to all who were affected by the earthquake. We are especially honored to welcome back the search and rescue dog teams that stood with us in the aftermath of the February 6 earthquakes, this time as competitors.
This event marks a significant milestone for the Turkish Kennel Club and for all members of the canine community in Turkey. It is a testament to our collective spirit and dedication to making a positive impact in the world.
We look forward to sharing this journey with you and to making the FCI 2025 World Search and Rescue Dogs Team Championship a meaningful and memorable event.
Warmest Regards,
KIF Board of Directors
